    • The ideal candidate brings a strong entrepreneurial spirit, a creative mindset, and experience in sales, hospitality or retail. Most importantly, they’re driven to grow a successful business that brings family and friends together over great food and music
    • A minimum net worth of $5 million with $2.5 million in liquid assets
    • Franchise fee of $25,000 and Development fee of $50,000
    • Infrastructure and resources to meet our development schedule
    • Real Estate experience in the market to be developed

    Our commitment to your growth starts on day 1

    • The real estate team will introduce you to our preferred broker in your area to initiate the process for identifying viable real estate opportunities within your defined development area.
    • The development strategy team will review your market plan with you, share preferred site criteria and assist you with prioritizing development in your area based on data driven decision making.
    • New franchisees, operators, and managers will complete a three-week training program—three weeks of consecutive in-store training at a regional Certified Training Store, plus one week of classroom training at our Home Office in Alexandria, Virginia. This comprehensive, hands-on learning experience will give you the skills, tools and resources necessary to achieve operational excellence the Five Guys way.

    Ready to become a Five Guys Franchise owner?

    • Market of Interest: Submit a Franchise Interest Form for the market you are interested in developing.
    • Pre-Qualification: A Five Guys Franchise Development Representative will contact you to provide an overview of what is involved in joining our franchise family and to answer any initial questions you may have.
    • Franchise Application: Our franchise application helps us get to know you, your business background and experience, financial capabilities, goals and interests, and operational capabilities.
    • Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) Review/Business Planning Tools Provided: Five Guys will provide a copy of our FDD to ensure that the Franchise Owner prospect has all the pertinent information about our company, business model, and every aspect of our business relationship with our Franchise Owner. We will also provide you with business planning tools to continue your due diligence and connect you with current Franchisees in our system to ensure that this opportunity is the best fit for you.
    • Executive Committee Approval: Your team will present your business plan to the Executive Committee and provide all legally required documentation. This presentation will serve as an interview process for all parties prior to being awarded a franchise
    • Franchise Award: Legal will draw up your Development Agreement. You will then execute your agreement and send in the initial development fee of $50,000. Once the agreement is signed, the site selection process, and your journey to opening your first Five Guys officially begins.

    Five Guys is proud to offer a Veteran Discount, whereby we will reduce the initial franchise fee by $10,000 for qualified franchisees. In order to qualify for the Veteran Discount, you must be an honorably discharged United States veteran with a form DD 214, you must be opening your first restaurant, and you must be the full-time, on-site owner-operator and personally manage the restaurant.
