We let you down, and we are going to make it right.
On February 17, we invited you to celebrate our 40th birthday with us. Wow, did you turn out!
The response to our birthday BOGO offer was unlike anything we’ve seen. You visited our restaurants in overwhelming numbers to share in the milestone, and for that, we are genuinely humbled. Forty years is a long time, and the outpouring of support yesterday reminded us why we love what we do.
But we also need to be honest: We let you down, and we’re sorry.
The promotion spread far beyond what we anticipated, and our hardworking crews were placed in a difficult situation. Some locations ran out of product and had to close early. Online and app ordering experienced sporadic issues that prevented some of you from redeeming the offer.
If you were one of the customers unable to place an order, you deserve better and we’re going to make it right. We’re currently planning something special for customers who missed out, and we’ll have details to share very soon.
Until then, please know that we have been working diligently to replenish product at closed locations.
We also want to recognize the incredible men and women working in our restaurants. While yesterday’s issues were through no fault of their own, they handled it with the same grit and dedication that has defined Five Guys for four decades. We are working together with our franchisees to ensure our crew members are properly recognized for their efforts during the promotion.
